Background/RP Sample Background: It was a dark night, only a single light could be seen in the village; the light belonged to the household of a farmer and his wife, who were having a hard time getting by. Screams of pain could be heard in between re-assuring words from the village medical professional. Suddenly, everything went quiet, a few seconds later crying could be heard from within the village. The farmer's wife had just given birth to her first child. She held her in his arms and let his fist grab onto her finger. She spoke, almost out of breath as she was, " He has such a strong grip for such a young one, let's call him Ganjou, in hopes he will become big and strong some day. " The farmer smiled and agreed, he would be named Ganjou. Young Ganjou was a trouble maker already at a young age. His unusual strength led him to break things often, putting a strain on his parents' already stretched out earnings. Once he had turned 3, his parents just could not afford to keep him anymore, and with deep regret they sent him to live and train at a martial arts monastery deep in the mountains, where he could reach his potential.
A week later, he arrived at the monastery, barely able to walk on his own two feet. The monks gathered at the front entrance, evaluating the newest enlist in their order; he was very clumsy at this time, unable to control his strength, with un-refined motor skills. The monks could tell he had great potential, but he also had a long ways to go before he could reach the level of master. For his first two years in the monastery, he was educated in the core skills of reading and writing as well as basic motor functions such as walking. He showed promise in his studies and always tried excessively hard at whatever he did, whether it was reading, studying history, or practicing basic martial arts moves such as punching and kicking; he enjoyed it all. At the age of six he began to study the basics of the martial arts of Kung Fu and Taekwondo. While he was unable to grasp the lessons he was taught immediately, through his hard work and dedication, he eventually mastered the basics and worked his way up to more advanced arts.
At the age of 9, he started his intermediate training in many different martial arts forms from across the Asian continent. Of these he became most interested in the Dragon style, though he did not train much in it do to it's advanced concepts. While he trained in less advanced techniques, he devoted a large quantity of time towards studying and attempting to learn the Dragon style. This intrigue and thirst for knowledge would be the first steps towards developing his own unique style of martial arts. With his combination of self-studying, hard work, and attentiveness to detail, he mastered enough Intermediate techniques to enter into advanced study amongst the higher-ranking members of the order, a feat someone his age had not accomplished in a very long time. Despite objections to enrolling such a young child into such dangerous and advanced arts, he began his training, taking particular interest again in the Dragon style, which at his current skill level, was available for him to learn and practice.
He continued to train hard for the next 6 years, mastering subsequent levels of some of the most advanced arts in the entire land. Yet despite his ability, he had mastered only half of the teachings he was required to learn before attaining the rank of master, a feat no one under 30 years of age had accomplished in the history of the order. Through his readings however, he had discovered an alternate method towards attaining the rank of Master, one must invent and pioneer their own form of martial arts. He requested to be allowed to leave the monastery and venture forth into the mountains to self-meditate on the highest peak. The elders laughed at his proposal, but his dead serious demeanor convinced them he understood the danger the trip presented. They granted him permission to leave the school for a period of 5 years, to self-meditate and develop a new style entirely his own. Thus he began his own period of self discovery and set off into the mountains.
What happened during his period of meditation on the mountains is unclear, but when he returned, he was entirely a changed man. What he had learned on the mountain drove his normal, happy personality into a 180 degree spin towards anger and aggression. He returned under the new name of Ganjou Ryuukobushi, adopting the name of his new style of fighting. When he got to the monastery he told the monks the basics of what had happened on the mountain top. To the best of their understanding, Ganjou had been on his 5th and final year of meditation, with not much complete, when the spirit of a dragon visited him. The dragon taught Ganjou the ways of the world, leaving him enlightened in the new style of Ryuukobushi as a parting gift. The dragon had proclaimed to Ganjou that in order to attain the style's true power, he must slay at least 50 men with his bare hands. The elders were shocked and powerless to stop him as he turned on them and executed nearly the entire temple, leaving only the extremely young alive. He disappeared soon after and has been labeled as an extremely dangerous A-Ranked criminal, and has almost achieved enough infamy to reach S-Ranked.
RP Sample: (I'm running out of juice for these RP Samples) Ganjou rushed frantically through the woods, his bare feet stepping on rocks and twigs with barely a sound emitted. There were Bounty Hunters on his trail and they had been chasing him for quite some time; he had expected them to grow tired a long time ago but these fools were particularly resilient. He grew impatient with this game of chase; he had been hoping to ambush them when they began to slow down, but that would take too long. He made a sudden stop and turned to face his attackers. They were taken off guard by his sudden change of heart and were unprepared to defend against his attacks. Ganjou quickly rushed at them, moving so fast he left an afterimage which appeared to attack the bounty hunters, while the real him struck from behind, with a series of sharp, powerful blows to the spine and kidneys. The first Bounty Hunter crumbled as if his bones had been converted to jelly while his eyes rolled up into his head. Ganjou knew the man couldn't have survived the full power of his Ryuukobushi style. He turned to the second of the three bounty hunters, throwing a punch but pulling it at the last second. The residual force of the pulled punch still rushed forward and knocked the second man straight off his feet and Ganjou pounced. He jumped into the air and did a backflip with his leg extended outwards, he called out, " Houtou no Ryuukobushi: Shikkyaku Ryuu, Way of the Dragon Fist: Falling Dragon, " and smashed his foot straight into the man's gut. The man choked and coughed up large portions of blood as his organs began to fail. With the first two out of the way, Ganjou only had one target left. He ran straight at the man and shouted, " Houtou no Ryuukobushi: Satsugai Ryuu, Way of the Dragon Fist: Killing Dragon, " entering into a fierce barrage of punches to vital areas, ending with an elbow with enough force to crush stone straight to the man's temple. The force crushed the man's skull straight through and brains splattered everywhere as his body sagged to the ground, dead. Ganjou had just killed the three bounty hunters without even breaking a sweat.
