Sitting on the Bench

Maria sat on the bench, staring into space.
"...."

She saw a Kage walking by but didnt think anything of it. She just bowed her head so she wouldnt attract attention and sighed quietly.

Her eyes widened at the sound of his voice and her heart jumped. She didnt move, she didnt even look up.
"Because, Lord Kazekage, its being polite..." She replied, not even using his name to address him.

She pushed him away roughly.
"Dont you DARE!"
She snarled, getting up.
"I'm not here for you to come back to after your relationship with your 'sister' goes sour..."

"Then why did you bother doing it...?" She hissed, clenching her fists. "Y'know what? Dont answer that. I dont wanna hear it," She picked up her bag and walked straight past him, trying to put as much distance between herself and Ryuuga as possible.

"Dont bother," She called back to him. "If you knew it was wrong you wouldnt have done it. You couldve even had the decency to break up with me and you didnt even do THAT," She wiped her eyes, still walking away. "I trusted you and you threw it back in my face!"

She found a tree stump a little while away and carefully sat down. She shook her head, trying her hardest not to cry about it. "C'mon...You shouldnt get so upset about it...You cant trust him, you cant.."

The impact from his attacks knocked her flat on her back with a 'thud'. She hissed in pain and tried to get up again.

The shock waves just knocked her back down again harder, making her cry out in pain. She didnt even bother to get up or, more correctly, she couldnt get up.

She tried to ignore him and felt tears rolling down her cheeks at the pain, both emotional and physical. "Ugh..This hurts..."

She looked at him and sighed heavily, knowing she couldnt get up on her own. She took his hand, not looking directly at him.

She just shook her head. "Bet youre not...Dont blame you...She's beautiful, smart, strong...Compared to her i'm nothing..."

"With all the harsh words i threw your way, it would only be natural if you were angry.." She replied.

"Then how do you think i felt...To find out the person you love was cheating on you and the humiliation of having to find that out from someone else. And not just that. Cheating on you with someone who was meant to be their family.." She began to sob.

"I would...But i dont know..You really crushed me, you know that? Even if i did give you another chance, i still wouldnt be 100% sure i could trust you..It would take a long time.."

She bit her lip and looked down for a moment. She was thinking it over very carefully. She wasnt sure if she could trust him but she really wanted to. She still loved him and she was carrying his child. It made sense to take him back. However, if he cheated once he could do it again. She finally reached a decision. She looked up at him again and nodded. "I...I'll take you back,"

She hesitated at first but finally just gave in and kissed him back just as lovingly. "You're welcome..Ryuuga.." She smiled, hearing about the new name he had been given. "A new name..A fresh start, yeah?" She said to him, resting her forehead against his.

She nodded, not daring to tell him how much she'd missed him. "Yes, i'll go with you to Suna. I'm only a civilian, the Leaf wont give a damn about me leaving," She replied, smiling at him surprisingly brightly. She was insanely happy and that made her wonder why she hadnt just taken him back as soon as he had asked the first time.

"Maria Fuuma..I can live with that," She smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "Your father? Ok, two questions. Who is he and why?" She laughed for the first time in weeks after she said that, still so unbelievably happy that she feared that she might pass out or something like that.

She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "Nagato Fuuma...Wow, i hope i make a good first impression or i'm screwed," She said jokingly. "It'll be good to meet my father-in-law. Not too keen on meeting my sister-in-law though," She teased.

She sighed in relief. "Good, that'd be awkward," She murmured, then smiled again. "I'll try and look as presentable as i can. I want them to like me." She said, and it was easy to tell that she was really nervous about meeting his family.

She looked at him. "Ryuuga.." She shook her head. "Never mind, you know what im gonna say..." She said as she leaned forward and kissed him again. Although it was very soft this time, almost hesitant.

She pulled back shortly after. "Wait...Wouldnt your father want you pairing up with another Fuuma...?" She asked him. "To keep the blood 'pure'..Or is he not like that?" She seemed pretty hopeful as she said the last part.

She relaxed as soon as he said that and hugged him tightly. "I've missed you so much, you know that..? I was beginning to think that the child would be the only thing i'd have to remember you by," She admitted.

She smiled to herself, nuzzling her head against his shoulder. "Now i know that, and you proved it. You came back for me...And i hope now that you're back that it'll stay that way,"

She nodded. "Thats a relief, because i really dont wanna lose you again, Ryuuga," She told him. "And the child needs a father. It wouldnt be fair to deny them that, would it?"

"Good, because ever since i became pregnant i wanted that child to have a good life. One where it'd have a loving family and a chance to be happy..Not like me. No parents and a sister who disappeared," She muttered, rubbing her arm.

"Oh, i know," She said, nodding. "I believe you, so don't worry about that side of things," She smiled sweetly as she let her hand fall back to her side. She looked down at her belly, looking at the bump that was now quite noticable through her clothing.

She smiled when he kissed her stomach and felt a jolt. "Oh!" She paused for a moment then laughed. "Well, it certainly knows you're there. It just kicked," She said, still looking a little surprised.

She glared at him playfully and grinned. "Oh yeah, looks like you're right. But, then again, i'm not surprised that you're the first one to notice it, right Ryuuga?" She teased, sticking out her tongue.

"Oh, what an excuse," She chuckled, shaking her head. She kissed him gently on the cheek but blinked in surprise when she felt what he was doing. She rolled her eyes and grinned as she let him hold her close.

She smirked at him. "You havent changed a bit, have you?" She said in reply, teasing him again. However, she still nodded and took a step back out of his arms. "Alright, lets go home then. I'm anxious to see what the Sand looks like,"
