Serene was born in a normal family in the villafe of Sunagakure. Her father was a blacksmith and her mother was a medic. She never liked her given name, so she made an alias for herself since her childhood. In her early childhood days, she was mostly picked on because of her akward quietness. She got used to being really quiet, even her parents are having a hard time talking to her. Once she reached the age of eight, her father taught her smithing. It took her four more years to master weapon-making and her father saw that she has great potential. After those years, she has also made her very own weapon, the Seion Bu-meran. When she reached the age of fourteen, she has graduated from the academy after learning the basic techniques and proving that she has excellent skill in Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu. When she got home, she saw her house was burning and her mother and father were still in there. It turned out that she forgot to clean up near the furnace after making her weapon and flammable objects started bursting into flames. She went in the house, even though she knew that she might be seriously injured in doing so. She found her parents dead on the floor and the only thing that she found still intact was her self-made weapon and her father's forging hammer. She took those two and left. After realizing that it was her fault, she completely kept quiet in guilt of actually being the cause of her parents' death. Since then, she has been living in the streets of Sunagakure and trying to keep going in her life as a ninja. Her parents' death always haunted her whenever she sees or hears something that reminds her of it.
