Since everyone seems to be posting poetry, I shall post my collection.
Comrades
“My comrades today
We march for our nation
Our victory is only a day away
No one can stand against us in all creation
Be reassured my brothers
We have in hand complete domination
Do not be afraid of the numbers of the others
Your courage and skill will see our conquest to completion
Let the pride of your arms be your strength
Let us be their annihilation
Let the smoke be your breath
We are their destruction
We are of humble beginnings
But look how far we have come
From lowly hovels to grand buildings
Look, comrades, what we have become.”
Little Willow
Weep little willow
The dawn fades away
Sleep little willow
The night holds sway
Wake little willow
For the clouds come to stay
Hold on little willow
Before the winds blow you away
Sing little willow
The rain falls
Grow little willow
Become part of the forest wall
Stay warm little willow
The nights grow colder
Dig deep little willow
The days are shorter
Don’t despair little willow
Ice and snow all have an end
Spring will come, little willow
No matter the weather trend
See the children little willow?
Steaming breath and running feet?
Playing in the snow, little willow?
Life so sweet?
Bear your burden little willow
The snows come and go
Remember little willow
All winters end, you know
Come out little willow
The sun is out
Gather the warmth little willow
The birds of dawn shout
Shake your leaves little willow
Rejoice in the green around you
Shower the ground with beauty little willow
This is not the time to be blue
Summer has arrived little willow
The sun shines ever so brightly
Drink it in little willow
Never take these days seriously
Hey little willow
Let Mr. Tambourine Man come and sing for you
Under the star-filled skies little willow
Let him play that jingle jangle sound for you
Hey little willow
Tell us your midnight summer dream
A rain-filled sky, little willow?
Or the dawn’s gleam?
Hey little willow
Hold young lovers in your embrace
Let their innocence bring joy to you little willow
Let them not be embarrassed
Hey little willow
Watch summer’s soul flit across the blue, blue sky
Rejoice in it little willow
Do not cry
Shine little willow
You still have days to come
Let joy suffuse your soul, little willow
You are far from done
Old you maybe, little willow
But youth can be still be found
Large you maybe, little willow
But let that not keep you bound
You will be still the little willow
To the people of the earth
Always young to them, little willow
Even after their rebirth
As man grows old
You become younger
The day still belongs to the bold
You are even stronger
Your seeds will grow, little willow
Your future is bright indeed
Don’t be sad little willow
There is no need
Be patient little willow
The seasons leave you be
You will survive little willow
So give a shout of glee
The night grows shorter
The days grow longer
The sun shines brightly
And the moon hangs tightly
The leaves turn green again, little willow
Light fills the forest again
Such bright light little willow
Looks like how it began
Spring comes my child
Let go of your burden
My forest child
Let go of your burden
Rest little willow
Your future is well in hand
Sleep deep little willow
Let the Tambourine Man play with his band
Softly, softly little willow
Let your branches droop
To touch the water they droop
Softly, softly little willow
The Cry Havoc
Stainless steel encompasses
Men of every walk of life
Who souls’ encompasses
Every kind of strife
One man leads them to their deaths
A commanding presence
Can be seen behind his shallow breaths
A fearful essence
Medals adorn his chest
Perfectly arranged in a row
He leads the best of the best
They strike the first blow
They are the strength of a nation
Young men so bright
They are the fist of domination
The future’s light
They are confident and disciplined
Loyal and proud
Strong and determined
Honest and loud
He took a deep breath
A sudden silence fell
The whole room held its breath
Will the words be said? No one can tell.
“Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war!”
Singing at the Break of Dawn
Singing at the break of dawn
A sunrise to be drawn
All night, you were only waiting
For this moment to arise
Singing at the break of dawn
Watching from your window the dew on the lawn
All night, you were only waiting
For this moment to arise
Singing at the break of dawn
You were only waiting
For this moment to arise
You were only waiting
For this moment to arise
Lighthouse
Across the rocky point
At Du-point
A beam of pure, heavenly light
Cuts through the fog so bright
Strafing the coastline with its brilliance
A long-standing symbol of resilience
It guides people of the sea home
From the monsters of lore
Along the shore families are awaiting
So anxiously waiting
For their loved ones
Hale and warm and not sea floor bones
With lighted candles under a grey sky
Hoping that their thoughts are not a lie
The rain begins falling
And a ship comes sailing
They have returned!
