Background/RP Sample

Background: Ryuumaru is the son of the Hitokiri Battosai Princess Kimi and her husband, the Legendary Snake Sannin Orochimaru. He was born in the Hidden Sound Village, or Otogakure. However, he was born with something that nearly all the shinobi nations wish they had. He was born with the Rin'negan, which means that he is the reincarnation of the Rikudou. Ryuumaru desires peace but unlike the last Rin'negan wielder Nagato, he refuses to conquer the world to bring peace to it. He desires to bring peace through diplomatic solutions instead of war. However, if he has to, he will fight.

Description: This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

Description: This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach using the Body Flicker Technique, the moment an attack hits. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. The user can then use this confusion to escape or launch a counter-attack. Exploding tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Basically all ninja know this technique.

The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

This technique is sometimes referred to as the Art of Projection ("Utsusemi no Jutsu") in other manga and anime series.

Description: This jutsu allows the user to transform either themselves or another object into the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konohagakure Ninja Academy. Fundamentally, all ninja know this jutsu. The transformation technique is considered to be among the more difficult E-ranked techniques, since it requires constant emission of chakra while mentally maintaining the form. On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on the inexperienced ninja.

Tsunade of the Sannin possesses a more advanced version of the Transformation Technique, where she disguises her 50-years old self as younger versions of herself. Her technique is unique as it seems to be permanent, nor does she need to exert herself to maintain it for a long time, whereas a normal transformation would be dispelled when the user is injured. This implies that the form is a physical transformation and that it only breaks when Tsunade is low on chakra. Kagero Fuma has also shown such a transformation, warping her appearance into a grotesque, hunchback man.

Description: Shinra Tensei is the ability to manipulate gravity at the users will to repulse matter away. Depending on the amount of force the Deva Path puts in this Jutsu, it can easily shatter wood, bones or stone. By using this technique as a defensive measure, all attacks directed to the user will be deflected, no matter the size or mass. The only downside to this technique is that there is a short period when it is unusable after being used, though only for roughly five seconds. If one is sufficiently rooted to the ground, the repulsive forces can be resisted, though this is only shown with Naruto and the help of his Shadow Clones.

Shinra Tensei can also be used on a larger scale for massive destruction. Before it can be used, Nagato must break his connection with all but the Deva path (presumably to channel all available chakra through it). A massive gravity well is created above the target, crushing everything beneath in a titanic explosion. Using it on this scale shortens Nagato's lifespan and leaves him unable to use the Deva path for several minutes.

Description: Banshō Ten'in is a technique similar to Shinra Tensei in that it manipulates gravity at the users will, however instead of pushing objects away, it draws them close. It is unknown if it can be used in a similar scale as Shinra Tensei or if it has the same five second limit.

The names of Banshō Ten'in and its companion ability, Shinra Tensei, are derived from Shinra Banshō (神羅万象, lit. "Everything Covered by God"), a Japanese four-character idiom and homophone variant of Shinra Banshō (森羅万象, lit.
